  • 80% of the world’s population is within 6-hour flight from HIA, positioning it as the gateway between Africa, Asia, and Europe.
  • Serves over 360,000 flights and 30 million passengers every year.
  • Phase A of expansion plans will see the airport’s capacity increase to 58 million passengers per year by the end of 2022, with Phase B to commence post 2022 increasing capacity to more than 60 million per year.
  • Has the largest aircraft maintenance hangar and the eighth longest runway in the world.

Qatar Airways Cargo is the world’s leading international air cargo carrier. It serves a global network of more than 60 freighter destinations and 140 passenger destinations utilizing freighters, belly-hold passenger flights, passenger freighters and mini freighters. With an extensive global network, highly experienced staff and premium facilities, Qatar Airways Cargo offers a high-quality air freight service to its growing list of customers around the world.

  • Fleet includes two Boeing 747-8 freighters, two Boeing 747-400 freighters, 26 Boeing 777 freighters and forty-eight B777-300ER mini freighters.
  • Quick Ramp Transfer (QRT) between ramp and warehouse using refrigerated vehicles that provide perfect temperature control during transportation.
  • Temperature-controlled handling and storage at the Hamad International Airport (HIA) cargo terminal in the appropriate temperature zone.
  • 64 temperature-controlled positions for units requiring refrigeration.

Qatar’s main seaport commenced operations in 2016 and has since been playing a pivotal role in the Middle East maritime trade.

  • Recognised as one of the largest green ports in the world, the port stretches over 28.5 sq. Km
  • Annual capacity of 7.5 million TEU, including 1.7 million tonnes of general freight.
  • In the first quarter of 2018, 1 million TEU of cargo from 22 navigation routes and 120 navigation destinations were handled, marking a milestone for the port in only 14 months of operation.

In addition to general cargo, the port handles diverse imports, including livestock, bulk grain, and vehicle traffic, as well as oil and gas export shipments.

At the heart of the infrastructure upgrade portfolio currently being implemented by the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’, is the Expressway Program. In addition to meeting the country’s growing traffic demands and facilitating reduced travel times, the program accommodates the needs of cyclists and pedestrians with many utilities and integrated urban beautification schemes.

Qatar’s railway network comprises three main state-wide projects designed, constructed, operated, and maintained by Qatar Rail. Doha Metro is Qatar’s public transport backbone and is one of the most advanced rail transit systems in the world.
