Fahad Ali Al-Kuwari

Chief Investment Development Officer

Fahad Ali Al-Kuwari is Chief Investment Development Officer at Invest Qatar, leading the Investment Development Department, which drives proactive investment attraction, lead generation and deal facilitation across priority markets and sectors. He oversees investor acquisition, negotiation and market entry support, as well as domestic direct investment. His team also leads structured aftercare and relationship management to support investor retention, reinvestment and expansion within Qatar.

Before joining Invest Qatar, Fahad managed the Markets team at Qatar Free Zones Authority, responsible for market entry strategies for high-priority markets and stakeholder engagement within Qatar and internationally. He previously worked with Qatar Energy as Head of Energy Policy, and a senior economist in strategy planning and international relations at the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Qatar. His experience includes representing the State’s energy sector on high-level missions and in multilateral forums such as OPEC where he was the youngest elected co-chair of the Economic Commissions Board (128th Session, November 2017), and negotiating on behalf of the government on climate change issues.

Fahad is a board member of Hassad Food and the US-Qatar Business Council. He holds a master’s degree from ESCP Business School and is fluent in Arabic, English and German.

Mohammed Al-Mulla

Manager – Investment Development

Mohammed Al-Mulla is the Manager of Investment Development at Invest Qatar, where he leads efforts to attract foreign direct investment and support the growth of priority sectors across the Qatari economy. In this role, he works closely with investors, government stakeholders and strategic partners to identify investment opportunities, facilitate market entry and expansion, and contribute to Qatar’s long-term economic development objectives. 

Prior to assuming his current position, Mohammed served as Head of Asia at Invest Qatar, where he spearheaded efforts to promote and facilitate foreign investment into Qatar from key Asian markets, building strategic relationships with investors and business communities across the region. 

Before joining Invest Qatar, Mohammed worked with the Technical Committee for the Motivation and Participation of the Private Sector in the Economic Development of Qatar at the Prime Minister’s Office, contributing to initiatives aimed at enhancing private sector engagement and economic growth. Earlier in his career, he served as an Architectural Engineer at the Public Works Authority (Ashghal). 

Mohammed holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Architecture from the Leicester School of Architecture at De Montfort University, United Kingdom, and a Master of Science in Project Management from the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom. He also holds the Diploma de Español (DELE) Nivel B2, demonstrating his proficiency in Spanish. 

Maryam Hamad Al-Malki

Head – Lead Generation, European Markets

Maryam Hamad Al-Malki serves as Head of Lead Generation for European Markets at Invest Qatar, where she leads efforts to identify and cultivate investment opportunities across Europe. In this role, she works closely with investors, businesses and strategic partners to promote Qatar as a leading investment destination, support prospective investors throughout their market entry journey and contribute to the expansion of foreign direct investment into Qatar. Through targeted engagement and relationship-building activities, Maryam helps connect international investors with opportunities across Qatar’s priority sectors and broader business ecosystem. 

Prior to this role, Maryam served as a Senior Executive of Investor Relations at Invest Qatar, where she was responsible for supporting and facilitating European companies seeking to establish and expand their presence in Qatar. Through her engagement with investors and stakeholders, she contributed to strengthening commercial relationships and promoting Qatar’s value proposition as a competitive destination for international business. 

Before joining Invest Qatar, Maryam worked as a Senior Account Executive at Ooredoo Qatar, where she managed strategic client relationships and supported several major projects across the country. In this role, she developed long-term partnerships and delivered tailored solutions to meet the evolving needs of key corporate clients. 

Maryam holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Leeds and a Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship from the University of Cambridge. 

Mr. Joe Hutchinson

Head of the Americas

Joe brings over 20 years of deep and impactful economic generation experience from a variety of leadership and management roles throughout his career.

Prior to joining Invest Qatar, Joe was Vice President, Technology Group Manager, in IDA Ireland, Ireland’s foreign direct investment (FDI) agency. His most recent role included responsibility for the attraction of new technology FDI from the East Coasts of the U.S. and Canada. It also included responsibility for a portfolio of over 50 existing clients. Joe’s career at IDA Ireland also saw him take up roles across of a range of Divisions in Ireland and overseas.

Joe’s previous experience also includes three years as Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Section in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). He also played a leading role in a range of high-profile deliverables and economic set-pieces, including the Export Trade Council, Ministerial trade missions and Ireland’s Joint Economic Commissions (e.g. China, South Korea, and Russia). He has also worked for Barclaycard International.

Throughout his career, Joe has served on a wide range of external Committees/Boards/Groups, including Startup Gathering 2015, High Level Group on International Education, Startup Entrepreneur Program and Immigrant Investor Program Evaluation Committee and the Research Prioritisation Action Group. During 2020, he was appointed as IDA Ireland’s representative to the Board of CeADAR, Ireland’s Centre for Applied A.I.

Joe holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Languages from Dublin City University and speaks English, Spanish and German. 

Nasser Ali Al-Kaabi

Acting Head – Investment Facilitation

Nasser Ali Al-Kaabi serves as Acting Head of Investment Facilitation at Invest Qatar, where he oversees efforts to support and enable investors throughout their investment journey in Qatar. In this role, he works closely with investors, government entities and key stakeholders to facilitate business establishment and expansion, address investor requirements, and enhance the overall investment experience, contributing to Qatar’s attractiveness as a leading investment destination. 

Prior to assuming his current position, Nasser was a Senior Specialist in Investor Relations at Invest Qatar, specializing in the promotion of investment opportunities across key sectors of the Qatari economy. His work focused on the Americas, where he was responsible for identifying and cultivating relationships with prospective investors, supporting their entry into the Qatari market, and engaging with local stakeholders to help strengthen the country’s investment ecosystem. 

In addition to his role at Invest Qatar, Nasser serves on the Board of the U.S.-Qatar Business Council (USQBC), an organisation dedicated to advancing economic and commercial collaboration between the United States and Qatar. 

Nasser holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service, majoring in International Politics, from Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service in Qatar. 

Abdulla Ahmed Al-Emadi

Acting Head – Lead Generation, Asia Markets

Abdulla Al-Emadi serves as Acting Head - Lead Generation, Asia Markets at Invest Qatar, where he leads efforts to attract investment from Asian markets and support Asian companies in establishing and expanding their presence in Qatar. In this role, he works closely with investors, businesses and entrepreneurs, connecting them with the right opportunities, partners and resources to navigate their market entry journey and achieve long-term success in Qatar. With a strong focus on building strategic relationships across Asia, Abdulla supports companies seeking to benefit from Qatar’s growing economy and its position as a gateway to the wider GCC region. 

Over the course of his career at Invest Qatar, Abdulla has participated in and led numerous business missions and investor engagement initiatives across key Asian markets, including Singapore, China, South Korea and India, helping strengthen commercial ties and promote Qatar as a preferred investment destination. 

Before joining Invest Qatar, Abdulla was an entrepreneur, establishing a luxury car sales platform that connected local buyers with dealers and manufacturers in Germany. He also founded a trading business in Kenya in 2019. Abdulla holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Northwestern University in Qatar and has represented Qatar in international debating competitions. 

Mr. Yanal Qatami

Senior Executive - Asia Pacific

Yanal is a Senior Executive of Investor Relations at Investment Promotion Agency Qatar and brings over 15 years of diversified experience in the business world across different countries and sectors to his role in supporting foreign companies to access the Qatari market. 

Prior to joining Invest Qatar, he managed several Logistics & Industrial government projects as a Business Analyst at Manateq – Economic Zones Company.

Yanal holds a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of Jordan in Business Economics and completed his Master of Business Administration at the University of Phoenix. While undertaking his MBA, Yanal worked for Charles Schwab a brokerage firm and Fortune 500 company and FONA international in Chicago over a period of 11 years in the United States. 

Mr. Elkhair Malik Balla

Senior Executive - Americas

Elkhair is a Senior Executive of Investor Relations at Invest Qatar and brings over 20 years of diversified experience in the business world within various sectors to his role in supporting foreign companies to access the Qatari market. 

 Prior to joining Invest Qatar, he worked in Silicon Valley, Wall Street and several entrepreneurial ventures. Elkhair earned a Bachelor’s degree with honours from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA (USA), with a major in Business Administration with a concentration in finance. He has a Master’s in Business Analytics from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Ms. AlMaha Al-Hammadi

Investor Relations Officer – Americas

AlMaha is an Investor Relations Officer focusing on the Americas region. Before joining Invest Qatar, AlMaha was part of the Public Relations team at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, where she contributed to communications efforts for the FIFA World Cup 2022, building strong partnerships and supporting crisis.

AlMaha also has experience working with the Government Communications Office in the Public Diplomacy Department, where she contributed to Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and advised on media engagement for key government initiatives.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in Qatar, with a major in Culture and Politics and a minor in Media and Politics, and an Executive Master’s in Leadership from the Georgetown McDonough School of Business, graduated in May 2025.

Mr. Danny Aguero

Investor Relations Officer – Europe

Danny Aguero is an experienced international business professional with expertise in business development and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) attraction. Danny's corporate experience includes roles at Amazon and Intel Corporation. At Amazon, he managed the Digital Tech Client Support Unit, and at Intel, he served as a Senior Business Analyst.

Danny’s public sector experience includes working with CINDE, the former Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) of Costa Rica, as an Investment Advisory Specialist, where he supported advanced manufacturing and technology projects. Danny also worked with PROCOMER, Costa Rica's current IPA, serving as a Senior Foreign Direct Investment Specialist for the semiconductors sector. In this role, he led the development and implementation of Costa Rica’s National Semiconductor Roadmap. He also supported a wide range of sectors, including life sciences and technology. 

Danny holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of Costa Rica and a Bachelor's degree in International Business from the Latin American University of Science and Technology. He is currently a candidate for the Executive MBA program at the Universitat de Barcelona Business School.
